I think this is my favourite of the Dansette players and I think the lure of this 1962 Dansette Tempo record player is down to the buttons.
I love the classic red, love the speaker grille at the front and of course, those oversized buttons on the front. Stylish and fairly minimal, as well as being ever-so-1960s.
Another of the restored players, this one is described as being in ‘as new working condition’, with all the brass effect fittings, a Garrard auto turntable (allowing you to stack up the records and ply on four speeds) plus the controls for volume and tone, a red pilot light and the iconic Dansette badge.
It has been stripped inside and out, the single valve amplifier has been serviced, out of spec components replaced and a new mains plug and cable fitted for the modern era. Note also that the Tempo wasn’t made with the ‘legs’, which is why they are not here.
Fancy it? Bidding right now is at £23.
