No, this isn’t the modern-day Beetle, the newly-unveiled Lego Creator set pays tribute to the original Volkswagen Beetle.
This is very much an adult’s Lego set (it even says so on the front) and aimed at lovers of the classic ‘bug’ from the 1960s as well as anyone who likes the idea of getting stuck a Lego set with a very obvious retro slant. That’ll be us then.
The detail is amazing, from there lights and there hub caps through to the VW badge, the movable seating and there spare tyre on the front. Someone has really thought this one out. It might be quite a job to put to together too, with the set made up of 1,167 individual pieces, including those added surfer elements and a choice of number plate.
The finished Beetle will come in at 11 inches x 10 inches x 4 inches wide and land at the start of August. Expect to pay around £70.
