Instant photography is well and truly back with the wonderful Impossible Project Polaroid-style I-1 Analog Instant Camera.
We noticed the launch of this earlier in the year, but we held back writing about as we weren’t sure if it would be sold worldwide. Thankfully it is, both in the UK and beyond.
Good news if you want to enjoy instant photography again, with some modern-day added features thrown in for good measure.
But first and foremost, this is the first new camera using the classic 600 type film (and the modern-day Impossible I-type equivalent) in over 20 years. The result is, however, well and truly retro. Rather like a space age take on the original Polaroid camera and offering instant photos in your hand in no time.
Those rings have a use too, providing a diffused light that’s perfect for portrait shots. If that’s not enough, connect to an iPhone app and you can use creative tools like light painting, double exposure and more, as well as changing camera settings via your phone.
The camera comes with a USB charging cable, hand strap, detachable viewfinder and cleaning cloth, with extras including a case and of course, the photo paper, sold separately.
If you want one, the price is £229.
