I think this is actually on a TV advert right now and for good reason. The 1970s-style Hendricks velvet sofa at Habitat is a winner.
We see a lot of sofas inspired by the 1950s and 1960s, but few that take the 1970s as a point of inspiration. Shame really, as the excesses of that decade, done well, still work in the modern era.
The Hendricks is one such example, especially if you go for the velvet version and particularly in the orange. A low back, a ‘long’ seat and wide arms, with some button detailing on the cushions.
If you don’t like this particular version, there are different colours, different sizes from armchairs through to corner units and a choice pf the velvet, fabric or leather.
That makes putting a price on it difficult. But as an example, the three-seater in velvet sells for £1,600. You can see the rest of the range at the Habitat website http://www.habitat.co.uk/sofas-armchairs/shop-by-collection/all-collections/hendricks?q=hendricks#page=1.
