Back to the 1970s for this Stereosound 505 stereogram, which just happens to be on eBay right now.
The ‘stereogram’ is such a ‘70s thing and all too often they look ugly and bulky. But this one is different. At its heart is a rather stylish piece of ‘teak effect’ furniture with some Scandinavian inspiration. Closed up, it would work well as a rather cool sideboard.
Of course, this one opens up to reveal a Garrard deck (33, 45 and 78rpm) and controls for bass, treble, and left and right volume. According to the seller, the deck has been ‘fully serviced, oiled and adjusted’ for correct operation, the amplifier is in full working order, the stylus and cartridge have been changed and the unit has also been PAT tested for safety.
There is one thing tho consider though. The seller claims the unit requires ‘8OHM speakers’ as they are not supplied, as well as round and flat pin connections. With that in mind, it probably requires a touch of research before committing to buy. If you do, it is on a ‘Buy It Now’ for £149.99 or you can make a cheaper offer.
