If you can’t afford an original Saarinen table (which certainly don’t come cheap), you can always opt for something similar from La Redoute, namely the Hisia and Aradan table range.
It isn’t a copy of that design and it isn’t exactly cheap. But it is certainly more affordable and comes with the added bonus of being interchangeable.
Confused? Let me explain. You can buy a Hisia base in black and white and in two different sizes. After that, you choose the top, which is available in wood or marble finishes and again, in different sizes.
It means you get to create your own retro table to suit your needs / dining room by assembling yourself. It looks like assembling it pretty much screwing top to bottom.
as we said, this isn’t a cheap option with the bases starting at £249 and the tops from the same price. But it s flexible and as we said, offers a similar look to the Saarinen classic for much less money.
