You might think that this is an old relic dug up from an equally vintage advertisement. But you would be wrong. The Doshisha Vintage Taste LCD TV is a brand new model.
Yes, someone has decided that a retro home doesn’t quite work with a super-sized flat screen TV in the corner of the room. It needs something from the middle of the 20th century. You still get the LCD screen (20 inch in size), but it is housed in a vintage-style wooden casing, complete with volume and channel controls on the front. That’s right, a ‘clunk’ and the channel switches.
But there are some modern concessions, not least HDMI, AV, USB, LAN inputs and digital audio outputs. Oh yes, a remote control too, should the novel of getting up and turning over wear off.
Also, as an added bonus, the casing is also free to use as storage space with the LCD being so slim.
It hits Japan first in the middle of this month. No price listed as yet, but we hope it’s cheap and we hope it comes over here.
