Love this design. It’s pretty practical too, although the 1950s Joos Teders-designed sewing stand on eBay doesn’t come cheap.
It dates back to 1955 and was produced by the Dutch company Metalux, which operated out of Amsterdam. What they made back in the 1950s is still strong today – a wonderful piece of midcentury design that would still work in a modern-era home.
Everything is present – the metal tripod stand, the coloured metal boxes and the coloured plywood lids, with the containers and lids able to swivel around the stand.
Condition is described as ‘good, but the paint on the covers has traces of wear, which is evident on some of the images. With that in mind, the ‘Buy It Now’ price of £460 seems steep. But you can make a cheaper offer via the listing.
