A little later than models often featured on these pages, but this restored 1968 Dansette Viva record player on eBay is still a desirable thing.
This is Dansette’s attempt at revamping its iconic player later in the 1960s and in terms of that, it isn’t a bad job. What doesn’t change is the construction – this is still a solid wood player with a four-speed, BSR UA25 turntable within.
It has also been stripped and cleaned inside and out, with the twin valve amplifier serviced, a new cable added and any ’out of spec’ parts replaced. This isn’t a new player, but it should play like one.
A proper auction too, with the price right now at £5.69.
