I know it isn’t the weather for it, but we still fell for this 1971 Volkswagen Beetle 1600 Karmann Convertible on eBay.
As you might have guessed, this car has ‘recently emerged from a restoration process’, which was essentially a full rebuild using many new parts. If you want to see just what that involved, the seller has a history file with photographs of the rebuild stages, should you want to see it.
That has included a new interior, fresh carpets and a brand new set of Minilite style alloy wheels with white wall tyres. It also has a ‘retro style’ CD player, should you be wondering what that is in the dashboard.
According to the seller, the 1600 engine ‘runs very sweetly’ and the car drives ‘just as it should’. The hood opens and closes correctly and is complete with a tonneau cover.
As you would hope, the car has an MOT until September 2017 with no advisories. A new MOT will also be added when the car sells.
As you might expect, this doesn’t come cheap. £10,995 is the price. If that’s a little steep, there are plenty of other Beetles on eBay right now for much less. But certainly not as good looking.
