Two years of hard work resulted in the 1964 Fiat 500D you see here and on eBay.
According to the seller, the cat has had a ‘full strip down’, with the body and undercarriage treated and the car resprayed in its original ivory. The original interior has been ‘fully restored’ with seat covers replaced and new door cars installed. The fuel tank bay / luggage boot and engine bay have also been restored, with the result of all of that being ‘not an ounce of rust’.
Mechanically, the brakes have been replaced, the 650cc engine professionally re-built, the steering overhauled and new parts added where necessary. Basically, nothing has been left untouched or unchecked.
Tat renovation was both lengthy and costly, but as you can see from the photos, it was worth the effort. The downside now is that the car will cost a fair bit to pick up. It is on eBay with a price of £13,250, although you can make a cheaper offer.
