It looks good and apparently it will sound good too. That’s the Seed turntable by HYM Seed Audio.
Not exactly a new concept, but defining a refined version of an all-in-one record player. Obviously the look sells it and if you want a player with more than a hint of midcentury design about it, then this is probably one to consider. However, the substance matches up with the style.
It uses audiophile components and a patented suspension design, the latter isolating the platter and tonearm from any speaker vibration, which should ensure a clean sound even at high volume.
That large speaker offers around 70w of output, with a with a built-in amplifier, two 1-inch tweeters, and two 4-inch woofers producing a dynamic sound that’s 20 per cent more than full-range speakers.
Bored of vinyl? It has that covered too. The unit can play digital formats over Wi-Fi, Airplay and Bluetooth, so Spotify (and others) can stream through it if you want that.
If all of that appeals, you can pledge right now on Kickstarter to get one. $346 is the ‘early bird’ offer and that ships worldwide.
