It’s a design we featured way back in 2006, but this limited edition 50th anniversary Flos Snoopy table lamp celebrates a far more distant launch.
As you probably worked out, the Snoopy made its debut back in 1967, the work of Achille Castiglioni for Flos. Why the name? Well, that’s down to its similarity to the dog in the Peanuts cartoon strip. Ok, you have to look hard, but it is there.
In homage to its 50th anniversary, Flos has reproduced the original concept created by Castiglioni, a prototype that has been preserved at the Achille Castiglioni Foundation for a number of years. It has a matt black embossed powder finish, the traditional cylindrical base, formed from ‘precious veined’ white marble.
Just 50 are reserved for the UK market and are available to order now. But you will need £1,100 to secure one.
