Fancy a sing-a-long? I’m sure there will be one or two when Grease returns to the cinema.
Amazingly, Grease is 40 years old and to celebrate, the film will hit the big screen in the UK from 19th April 2018. Which screen? Well, it’s fair to say that it will be pretty much every big screen in every town. Just check the listings from the start of April in your area to find out where and when you’ll be able to see John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as the oldest teenagers in town.
Of course, the movie, set in the 1950s, wasn’t just a film. It was originally a 1971 stage musical than gained momentum over the years. If you want the full story, do check out the new version of Grease on Blu-ray. Yes, you can watch it from the comfort of your own home too.
The new release is a fully restored version of the film which includes an all-new, in-depth exploration of the little-known origins of that play, film and eventually, a global phenomenon.
That should be available to pre-order from Amazon fairly soon, with the release date for the Blu-ray down as 23rd April 2018.
