A clock is just a clock right? Well no, a clock can really set off a room. Especially if it is one of these midcentury and Mondrian-inspired clocks by Jetset Retro.
Not just clocks, these are works of art for the home and perfect finishing touches for a midcentury modern environment. Even better, each of these clocks is handmade, which means it is unlikely that your friends will have something like this in their home. Bragging rights assured, even if getting one is a little tougher than just going out to the local high street.
There are 16 designs in the range as far as we can see, although some are variations on a theme. Essentially, choose from something inspired by Piet Mondrian’s artwork or a clock with a strong 1950s midcentury modern / tiki vibe, throwing in a bit of George Nelson inspiration. Yes, the spirit of Nelson looms large on the actual clock faces.
We have picked out four of the designs here, which are the large (3ft) Mondrian-inspired clock pictured above, along with the midcentury tiki clock, a further MCM clock inspired by a similar era and a further 3ft clock using those boxes once again but with a little less colour, all pictured below.
All the clocks are produced from fabric, metal and a maple hardwood, all are made to order and as we said, each one is handmade by Jetset Retro. All are available online right now too. Do check out the full range at the maker’s site and if one of the clocks catches your eye, prices are between £128 and £238.
