This is a good looking thing. If you think so too, then you will be pleased to hear that this 1966 Volkswagen Camper Van is up for sale on eBay.
The van has a name and that name is ‘Millie’. It has also had quite a journey in the past too. This particular VW Camper was manufactured in Germany in 1966, exported to Paris (yes, this is a LHD vehicle), which is where the van spent its early life. After that, for reasons unexplained, the van went into storage (in the 1980s).
After a couple of decades of hibernation, the van was shipped to the UK. It apparently had a ‘very solid shell’, but needed work. So a ‘full and long restoration’ was carried out from 2010.
At this point you probably need to refer to the eBay listing to get an idea of the work done, as it is exhaustive, with documents and receipts available to confirm everything was done properly. In fact, the paperwork from its life in France is also available to the successful bidder too. The bottom line here is that a considerable amount of mechanical work was carried out, as well as cosmetic work. The end result is what you see in these images, which is a very good looking vehicle.
Check that out if you want to know more on the listing, which also has additional photos.
Of course, the work was costly and perhaps because of that, the price is far from cheap. This one is up for £30,000 – or you can make a cheaper offer.
