Ok, I get it. The PlattenKreisel circular vinyl storage unit isn’t for everyone. If you want something smaller in size and price, check out the Avalon 1950s record storage cabinet on eBay.
This is an original 1950s cabinet, one said to be inspired by Danish design of the era and one that looks in remarkable condition considering its age.
That might be down to refurbishment. According to the listing, this 1950s storage unit has been ‘enhanced’ by French polish and some restoration work. Whatever was done, it has certainly done the job, as it shows ‘very little or almost no signs of damage’.
Its a good size too. Granted it isn’t going to support the kind of collection vinyl junkie might have on the go. But if you just have a small record player (like a Dansette or modern-day reproduction for example), this unit might be an ideal place to store it, with the option of keeping your vinyl or your latest finds in the cupboard space below.
There are modern versions of these cabinets available to buy, but they might end up costing you a lot more than this vintage example.
Talking of price, this 1950s cabinet is down as selling for £299.99 on a ‘Buy It Now’ or you can make a cheaper offer.
