You don’t see many of these up for sale. Perhaps because the 1993 Rover Mini Italian Job Edition was a car produced in very limited numbers. One has just popped up on eBay.
From what I have found out, the car was produced back in the early 1990s in red, white, blue and green, with each car limited to just 250.
The one here is in an electric blue, with the colour not the only standout detail. The car also has an interior of black with red ping, a small Italian flag stitched into the backrest, a matching blue lining for the boot (which isn’t original), an Italian flag on the steering wheel and an Italian Job budget for both the hood and the rear.
You might have noticed the bonnet stripes too, the white grille with chrome surround, the wheel arch trims and the auxiliary lamps on the front.
According to the seller, the car has also benefitted from a ‘great deal of time effort and expense’ from the previous owner, including bodywork repairs and wheels refinished with new matching tyres. See the listing for all the details of the work.
The car will be issued with a fresh MOT at point of sale as it has just been taken from storage for the last year and it comes with the original book pack, three sets of keys, old MOTS and some other paperwork/invoices.
I have no idea how much these went for back in the early 1990s, but this one is on eBay at the moment with a starting price of £5,500. If you want to live out your swinging London / Michael Caine fantasy, it might be worth checking out.
