This style actually dates back to the 1960s, but the Fred Perry Twin Tipped Shirt Dress has one key difference from the original.
As you have probably worked out, this is an extension of the classic Fred Perry polo shirt range. In fact, quite literally. They don’t get any longer than this.
But the idea of a Fred Perry Shirt Dress isn’t new. This style actually appeared in Fred Perry ads as far back as the 1960s and cause quite a stir. But the dress inn the 1960s was pretty much a tennis dress and as such, was produced in all white.
However, the new version is in black, said to be ‘a reference to anti-establishment dressing’ rather than to the sport that gave us the classic shirt.
The dress is made of a cotton pique with elastane and has a straight fit, twin-tipped collar and cuff plus a two-button placket. Details taken from the shirt, right down to the Laurel Wreath logo on the chest.
Sizes are 6 through to 16 and the price is £80 directly from Fred Perry.
