I have featured a few contemporary takes on this, but the 1960s teak record storage cabinet on eBay is both original and cheaper.
In fact, the unit is on a ‘Buy It Now’ and with the option of putting in a cheaper offer if you prefer. So theoretically you could get this for a good price.
But before you ponder that, you might want to ponder the design. It isn’t as ‘midcentury’ as some I have featured. If it was, the cabinet would be priced much higher. But this is very much of its original era and very practical.
As the title says, this is a record storage cabinet, purpose-made for that very use. So space underneath for records and dividers in place to help with the storage, sliding doors to keep everything private and space on top for a record player. A further shelf for pretty much anything too. Magazines maybe? Something like that.
It is sized at W 81 x D 39 x H 80 cm and is down as being in ‘superb condition throughout. If you fancy it, the ‘Buy It Now’ price is £135. But as I said, you can make a cheaper offer for this, perhaps something nearer the £100 mark. If you need somewhere for some records and a player, this is definitely worth a closer look.
