If you are on the hunt for a classic Fiat, then you really want to check out this 1965 low mileage Fiat 500 on eBay.
I know, ‘low mileage’ isn’t always believable when it comes to cars dating back over 50 years. But the seller claims that the 68500km (which is around 43,000 miles) is ‘supported by several indicators’. You might want to check with the seller about those indicators if you are in any doubt.
It looks in pretty amazing condition regardless. This 1965 model is one of the ‘suicide door’ models and oozes originality. In fact, it even comes with the original Italian annual tax/registration book if you like a bit of authenticity.
Lots more original detailing too, including the original non-syncro gearbox and 499cc engine, as well as the switches, door cards, wheels, brake drums and much more. The car is still wearing her original Fiat factory colour of 0653, Grigio Medio too, although that is likely to be a respray as opposed to it surviving all these years.
Talking of updates, this 1965 Fiat 500 has new seat upholstery, which has been redone in original red. Other updates include the wheel bearings being replaced, the rear drive shafts ‘up-rated’ to the later type, new brake shoes and cylinders at all four corners, new ignition components, new sump and rocker cover gaskets, a new battery and much more. See the listing for the complete breakdown.
The seller describes the end result as ’an exquisitely original car that is reliable, well sorted and ready to get you where you need to go in style’.
With a couple of days left, the bidding currently sits at £8,600 for the car. If you fancy a bid, don’t hang about with that deadline looming.
