New in and perfect for the time of year is the 1960s-style Margot Dress at Hobbs.
Something of a classic look, but this shift silhouette will always be associated with the 1960s. Slim, stylish and with plenty of subtly in the detail.
In fact, the biggest selling point for me isn’t the cut of the dress, it’s the construction. Part of a heritage check range at Hobbs right now, this dress is made from pure wool woven in the renowned Yorkshire-based woollen mill, Abraham Moon. That adds another ‘vintage’ layer to an already retro style.
Outside of that, the dress has that straight shift silhouette, along with velvet trims and an ochre check pattern. It is also fully lined with zip back fastening. Great for layering up too, as you can see from the photos.
The dress is available in sizes 6 through to 18 and retails for £149. Note that there is also a similar Joy Check Dress and a skirt made from the same cloth as the dress here.
