The designs might be familiar, but the finishes are definitely different. This is the new Kartell x La Double J retro furniture range.
The designs are classics from the Kartell range, including the timeless Componibili storage units, the work of Italian designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell back in 1969 and the space age Tip Top table for example. Much more too, as you can see from the images above and below.
But these are not as you usually see them. Kartell has teamed up with JJ Martin, creative director of Milan-based La Double J, adding an extra layer of vintage courtesy of some distinctive prints across and covering these noted design pieces.
There’s everything from art deco-era geometrics through to bold 1970s florals for those coverings, which hopefully means there is something for whatever theme to want for your room. Of course, the new finishes also add splashes of colour too, creating some eye-catching focal points for a room.
My personal favourite here is the floral Componibili unit, but do have a browse of the photos to see which one catches your eye.
As for price and availability, the pieces are currently reaching the shelves right now, but you might have to shop around a few retailer to take in the entire range.
A good amount of the range is available at Amara, along with Ambiente Direct and Connox.
As for prices, expect to pay around £149 for the Componibili storage units and £233 for a Tip Top Table. See those retail sites for the rest of the prices and availability.
