Retro furniture at a budget supermarket? You’d better believe it, with the range kicking off with this midcentury-style Kirkton House armchair at Aldi.
As far as I know, this isn’t the start of an Aldi budget furniture store. Rather, this is part of its Special Buys range, which has been quite fruitful for retro buys in the past, including the hugely popular Dansette-style record player, 1960s-style kitchenware and just last week, some vintage-style sewing boxes. So it has a track record of going down the retro route.
It has done so again with this armchair, which looks good value at under £100.
The chair has a midcentury Scandi vibe, with the gently curving wooden frame and seating with back button detail. If you need an extra chair in the home without spending a fortune, this could be worth a look. Downside? Just the grey finish as far as I can see, but that is pretty neutral, so probably a good choice to go with.
If you want one, you can order it online now for £99.99 or see it instore from 23rd September 2018. The only problem with the latter, as far as I can see, would be getting it into your trolley and car. Maybe online is the best move.

A couple of other retro bits and pieces in the latest sale too, including this 1950s-style Kirkton House Tulips Cushion. That has now sold out online, but you should be able to get it instore for £6.99 from 23rd September too. Just don’t leave it too long as it looks like these are already incredibly popular in light of the price.
