Love this idea. Classic music as retro pulp fiction cover art by Todd Alcott. Even better, each is available to buy online.
Classic tracks from a cross section of bands and solo artists are featured, including the likes of David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Talking Heads, The Smiths, Elvis Costello, The Clash, Rolling Stones, King Crimson and more. Although initially you might think you are looking at an old book cover.
That’s the point really. Tracks from those acts have been reworked using both US and UK pulp or popular fiction covers, the former using the sensationalism you would expect of them, the latter a little more matter of fact. But just as cool.
The covers feature the band, the song title and in many cases, the lyrics added in to replace what would be the eye-catching plotline of the story itself.
Bright, colourful and unashamedly retro. They should look amazing framed on a wall and will definitely be a talking point when anyone with even the vaguest interest in music pops round.
To give you an idea of what you expect, I’ve picked out a selection of the artwork available right here. But do check out the artist’s Etsy site to browse the full range and to find out the inspiration behind each of the chosen artworks.
Each print is handmade and printed on heavy, glossy paper, but does vary in price depending on the size you require. But as a guide, ou are looking at a starting price of £19.96.
