I have featured a number of these in the past, some for quite high prices. But the bargain midcentury planters at TK Maxx offer much better value.
Not a great deal about them I’m afraid, so I can’t help in terms of the maker or if they have been available at a higher price in the past. They just appeared in the listings and caught my eye. If they caught yours, you might want to act fast as pieces move quickly at TK Maxx online.
What I do know is that they have a strong midcentury look and a variety of finishes and sizes. I love the one at the top of the page, which is a ceramic red planter with ridges and a wooden stand. It sites around 51cm high and 31cm across and sells for £29.99 right now.
But do check out the other planters too. The white one further down the page is very similar in terms of style and size, but with a white ceramic pot instead of the red. Again, that is £29.99. The berry-coloured planter is smaller, but is much cheaper at £16.99, the blue one is a slight variation on the theme, but is even cheaper at £14.99 and finally, the tall planter is the biggest of the bunch and a little pricier at £34.99 . But still nowhere near the prices of the main competition elsewhere.

(note that you will have to scroll down the page at the retailer to see and order all of the planters)
Talking of those other planters, they include the cement planters at Next, the Florian midcentury planters at La Redoute and the slightly more stylised planters at West Elm. All worth checking out, but all pricier than the ones pictured here.
