Remember those Orla Kiely pedal bins? Well, there is a similar and cheaper alternative. the Salter retro pedal bin range.
The Orla Kiely collaborations were priced between £95 and £132 when they first appeared instore, depending on the size. I’m not claiming the Salter designs are budget in comparison, but they are considerably cheaper, especially in light of the size of these.
That’s because the pedal bins here are 30 litre. That’s the same size as the largest Orla Kiely pedal bins, so you can compare these to the £132 price point.
They have another strong selling point too, which is the range of designs. There are seven designs to choose from, some with a hint of Orla Kiely about them, other that just go down the retro route.
In fact, you can see all the designs here and make your own mind up about your personal favourite. All are made with a durable iron construction and finished with an epoxy coating, so it looks good and is easy to clean. As I said, a 30 litre capacity too, so a decent size.
Also a ‘name’ maker too. Salter has been around for years and although this is a cheaper option, it isn’t compromising on quality.
In terms of the price, that varies between designs but is between £33.95 and £59.99. But most are around the £35 mark.
