It’s the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus, so the perfect time for the Mini Moderns Bauhaus wallpaper collection to launch.
Trust me, you will be hearing a lot about Bauhaus this year because of that anniversary, with a good number of events and related merchandise either due this year or already on the shelves. You might have already seen the ceramics range by Design K and the Bauhaus architectural sculptures by Chisel and Mouse for example (you can see the latter in some of these images). Those are just the tip of a very large iceberg.
As is this wallpaper range. Part of a wider Culture collection (which I will probably revisit in the coming weeks), the Bauhaus wallpaper, but not obviously so – unless you know what you are looking for. This is a bold, retro wallpaper whatever your architectural preference and ideal for a feature wall or anywhere that needs a focal point.
But if you are a fan of the early 20th-century modernist movement you might notice that this particular design features some of Walter Gropius’ most well-known architecture, including the Fagus factory, Bauhaus Dessau and the Chicago Tribune Tower, as well as symbols of the Bauhaus movement, specifically the circle, triangle and square.
Six colours to choose from too, ranging from the strong to the more subdued, this being Concrete, Washed Denim, Harvest Orange, Winter Plum, Douglas Fire and Stone. All of which are featured on this page.
If you like the idea of celebrating the Bauhaus anniversary with a bit of redecorating, the wallpaper sells for £60 per roll, with each of those rolls coming in at 52cm x 10m.
