A design team whose work I love, so very excited about the upcoming Mid-Century Modern Living: The Mini Modern’s Guide to Pattern and Style book.
Mini Moderns is actually just two people, those being Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire, with their work being a constant on this site for some years. Hardly surprising, as the duo have consistently produced some of the best modern-day retro interior decoration and homeware around, much of it inspired by childhood memories and popular culture of the past.
If you want to see it, just have a look through the Mini Moderns archive on the site, with the most recent designs featured being the wonderful Bauhaus wallpaper collection and the 1980s-inspired Play/Record wallpaper.
And you want more, have a look at this upcoming book, which isn’t just about product (although that is there), it’s also packed with ideas for bringing a signature mid-century look into your own space, as well as practical advice on what will work where. Yes, a design guide for whatever area you want to rework.
Packed with photographs, the 224-page book explores how different influences and designers have created key midcentury looks and helps you bring together your own look, helped along by case studies to demonstrate particular looks – from Beatnik Beach House to Scandi Rustic, Seaside Modern to Studio Townhouse.
If it’s time for an interior makeover, this might be worth adding to your shopping list first. Landing on 28th March, the book is available to pre-order now for a discounted £17.60.
