If a George Nelson reissue is out of your piece range, have a look at the more affordable Objectify retro wooden wall clocks at Etsy.
Objectify has been making homewares for over 10 years out of New Zealand and shipping the finished designs worldwide, including to the UK – and for less than you might think, should you be worried about postage costs.
Most of the designs on offer are wall clocks (plus a few desk clocks) and a good number of those are retro designs, especially designs that would work well in a midcentury modern home.
Some have a hint of George Nelson about them but most are just eye-catching retro designs that would add some colour and some interest to any wall in your home, whether that’s the bedroom, the kitchen or the living room.
The majority of the clocks are produced using sustainably produced Radiata Pine plywood with the design digitally printed directly on the plywood in durable, non-fading pigment ink. Each clock face is unique, reflecting the grain of the wood it was made from.
Just stick in a single AA battery, hang it up and you are away. At least you are once you have bought the clock.
I have picked out a few of my favourites, but this is quite an in-depth range, so please have a look at the retailer’s site to see if any other clocks catch your eye.
If they do, expect to pay from just over £27 for the clock, depending on size and design. Shipping from New Zealand is under £10, so cheaper than you might think for that too.
