Nostalgic for BMX? You might well like the idea of a 1980s MK1 Raleigh Super Tuff Burner, which returns in limited numbers.
How limited? I don’t know as yet, but similar reissues in the past were snapped up almost instantaneously and I can’t imagine things will change with this one. So if you have designs on this for your Christmas list or the list of your little one, you might need to jump in early and find a good hiding place until the big day.
As you might know, the MK1 Raleigh Super Tuff Burner first appeared back in 1983 and its distinctive look makes it one of the most recognisable BMX bikes around, even today.
There’s no denying that this is an eye-catching bike with its ‘80s gold chrome finish against a black background. Retro – and in a good way. Also present are the black skyway mag wheels and the double hole frame with looptail rear, which were trademarks of this particular BMX bike.
So you are sold on the idea of one. Presumably, you want to know how to get one? Well, it’s not as easy as you might hope. But in light of the potential demand from both past riders and newcomers, you might want to make a note of all of this.
Raleigh is opening pre-orders for the bike on 14th August 2019, which should guarantee you one – and with delivery before the general public have a chance to get one. As for price, that’s not clear, but past reissues haven’t exactly been cheap. That’s unlikely to change here, but if you really want one of these in your life, it might be a price worth paying.
