Sometimes the best time to shop a sale is at the end. These 1980s-style Linear record cases at Magpie are almost being given away.

This design was actually from a mini range going back to 2017, with the other designs offering more of a 1970s vibe. Sadly the 1970s boxes have sold through, but the 1980s one is still available for a fraction of the original price.

The box holds between 25 and 35 LP-sizes records (or 12-inch singles) depending on thickness. Obviously it will hold more 12-inch singles than double or triple albums, hence the vagueness of storage.

It is made from card with metal fittings, so is more a box for in the home than out and about. Go for something metal if you go out with your vinyl a lot.

£30 seemed a lot of money when these were first mentioned, but at the moment the clearout price is just £4, which makes them quite a bargain, especially if you just want somewhere to store a few records. In fact, at that price, it might be worth picking up a few before stock runs out.
