Not seen these around for a while but the 1980s Adidas Samoa trainers are now back on the shelves for the new year and new decade.
As the title says, these date back to the 1980s and back then it was pretty much an all-round sports shoe. Not unlike the Samba. Well, at least in terms of purpose. But the look is very different.
In fact, this is also different to the Samoa that was part of the Adidas Island Series, which only adds to the confusion. This is basically the one with the chunky toe.
This all-rounder returns in two colours options, both of which are pictured here. For me, the white with green details is head and shoulders above the black version with the red details. Although that view might be influenced by the grain of the finish on the black one.
Anyway, this is a low-cut shoe with that distinctive rubber toe bumper, some T-toe detailing as well plus the Samoa name on the side as well as all the usual Adidas branding.
Just on the shelves, the new versions of the Samoa sell for £54.95.
