Not an obvious colour, but these budget retro Scandi-style vases at H&M Home offer real value and a strong look.
A strong look because this is a shape that’s pretty much synonymous with Scandinavian glassware from the mid-20th century. I’m not saying its a copy of anything specific, but it takes inspiration from that era and that part of the world.
Which is no bad thing. Whether you use it for a vase or purely for decoration, this kind of glass always impresses in a retro or midcentury modern setting. Getting it for modest money pretty much seals the deal.
The deal breaker is likely to be the colour. Does black work for you? Personally, I quite like it as it’s a departure from a clear vase and some of the more obvious colours out there. If it isn’t for you, I would recommend having a look at the 1960s-style glass vases by The Little Boy’s Room for something brighter. Also, the Gemma Leamy vases for Dartington Crystal have a similar look and have just gone into the sale.
But if you are fine with black the vases here are well priced, available from just £6.99.
