Plenty out there, but these pebble-shaped midcentury side tables by The Clementine have cuteness on their side.
But that’s not the only selling point of these unmistakably retro tables, which are as cool as they are adaptable. First off, the tables here aren’t some mass-produced items from some faraway factory. These have been handcrafted by traditional carpenters in Cornwall exclusively for retailer LIGA. So you would hope and expect the table to last much longer than some of the cheaper alternatives you might see out there. Basically, you get what you pay for.
The tables are a mix of turned birch plywood with an enhanced grain effect, which is then coupled with a high-pressure laminate surface which is heat resistant and water repellant.
The only thing you need to do is to screw the legs in (that’s the only assembly required) and to choose your favourite shade out of the ones pictured here.
As for price, that’s £140. So a little pricier than some alternatives out there, but worth it if you want to support small makers and get something made to last.
