The first reissue of these sold out in minutes, so don’t expect these Archive Adidas SL76 trainers to last long.
In fact, they are unlikely to even make it to the retail site unless Size? has got big numbers of these. That’s right, these are a Size? exclusive, so don’t go looking around for them at any other place. You’ll be disappointed.
As I said last time out, the ’SL’ series started in 1972 and the SL72 is the most common design in the range. In fact, there are some colours in the sale and other new styles in the range right now. Worth a look if you like those.
But the SL76 is a much rarer beast and not a shoe that appears often. It’s a continuation of the line with some tweaks, but still a Super Light (yes, that’s what SL stands for) sports shoe.
The SL76 is light because of a mix of lightweight nylon and suede overlays, along with the Adidas ghilly-loop lacing system to keep things tight on your feet. Also present is as streamlined EVA midsole and a rubber toe-bumper to stop scuffing to the suede toe panels. Finally, the serrated rubber outsole offers up plenty of grip.
Both pairs come in the original colourways of ‘Blue and Red’ and ‘Yellow and Blue’ and are available in Size? stores when they open their doors on Friday 7th August 2020. £75 gets you a pair if they have enough stock.
If you want them online, that’s going to be a case of ‘winning’ a pair in the raffle via the Size? app. That draw closes on 6th August at 8am.
