This is so cute. Not only that, but this 1970s Peugeot J7 retro catering van on eBay is also a very practical investment too.
But let’s enjoy the finish on this wonderful van first. Fully restored inside and out, this is a 1978 take on a van that was produced by Peugeot from 1965 to 1980. Looking at this one, one of the later examples, the design didn’t change a great deal externally over those years.
Not that it is particularly ‘retro’ in the cab. That’s probably as functional as you would expect from a 1970s van. But someone has done a great job giving this a new lease of life externally and functionally.
I love the light blue and white colour scheme of this van, the white wheels and of course, all of that marvellous timber. This is a van that will turn heads on the open road. But when you get to your destination it should be useful too.
This is essentially set up as some kind of retro catering van. As you can see, the wood panelling carries through across the rear and as you can also see, the side opens out for serving, as does the rear.
So a serving hatch and a bar in one modest-sized vehicle. Al you needed to do is think of a good thing to serve. With lockdowns still a part of our life, a van like this could be a profitable excursion for someone now and in particular later when the world opens up a little more.
Note that this is a left-hand drive van, with a four-speed diesel engine that ‘drives very well’. It was imported pre-Brexit, so no customs duty and the paperwork is available to register here if required.
Well worth considering if you have always fancied some kind of mobile business. It is up for sale for £16,995.
