Just like the original, the 1970s Adidas Orion trainers are back on the shelves as a one-to-one reissue.
Yes, the original 1970s sports shoe. Actually, it was a running shoe, although I don’t think many people will be buying this for running long distances these days.
But once upon a time they did. Perhaps most famously, Terry Fox wore the Adidas Orion shoes on his famous and inspiring 143-day cancer research fundraising run over four decades back. If they could last that kind of wear, they’ll be just fine for you getting around the streets.
Just like the original, this pair has a mix of suede and nylon for the upper, with the shoe sitting on some lightweight cushioning. The colour is navy and white and the overall look and feel is a distinctly retro/vintage piece of footwear. Which is the key appeal really.
The Orion comes and goes in the Adidas range, but hasn’t been seen as much of late. With that in mind, a version based on the original shoe is likely to prove very popular.
If you want a pair in your life, the asking price is £70.
