It’s becoming quite the place for affordable retro finds. The latest being these budget 1950s Acapulco garden chairs at Aldi.
In good time too. With the weather set to change from miserable to pleasant in the coming days, the garden (if you ate lucky enough to have one) suddenly becomes a focus. And with a Bank Holiday looming, all the better.
The chairs here aren’t new in terms of being available or even being on this site. I have featured similar designs from John Lewis and Maisons Du Monde in the past, as well as sofa versions. But there are a couple of key differences between those and the ones at Aldi (outside of colour options).
The first is the most obvious. It’s the price. These are available for a fraction of the price of those at many high street sellers. That alone makes them worth a look.
But there’s another difference. The range is available in standard sizes and kids’ sizes. Yes, you can get little ones for your children for even less money. You don’t see those often.
The design is pretty much in line with other stores, so a poly-rattan weave on a steel chair, which should be strong enough to cope with the elements. Note that’s also UV-resistant. As for the design, a classic retro round chair with angled legs. Good-looking and comfy. Especially if you stick on a cushion.
They are available to buy online in some cases, otherwise, you’ll need to grab one at your local Aldi store from today, 27th May 2021. You can get the adult versions in a bamboo finish, green and orange, with the mini kids’ version also available in bamboo, orange and green.
Get in quickly as these will sell through fast in light of the price and the weather. £24.99 for the adult size and £19.99 for the kids’ size.
