This one was around in 2011, but the 1960s-style Bow floor lamp range has expanded over the year at maker/retailer Made.
That’s a good thing by the way, as this is a tribute to a 1960s classic. And a much cheaper option for your home too.
Of course, that is a good thing as the original Flos Arco floor lamp (which is where this one takes its inspiration) sells for around £1,600 and sometimes even more. This is a fraction of the price and still a statement piece of interior design.
And if you have a room that takes inspiration from the 1960s, you really do want a statement light or lamp. It’s the ideal finishing touch as well as being a functional piece of design too. This one is almost sculptural and a lamp that will get attention and get people talking. Especially in the current range of finishes.
Originally offered in just chrome, the Bow lamp is now offered in brass and black marble, as well as black nickel and marble plus a black with white marble and copper with white marble. All very retro and very appealing. It’s all down to personal taste.
As for the design the marble base holds the adjustable arching stem and an articulated, spherical shade, allowing you to adjust the light exactly where you want it.
It looks like a pricier light than it is in reality. Which is pretty much the point. It’s a principle that follows through across much all of the Made range. In terms of the lamp here, you can pick one up for just £170. That’s a serious retro bargain.
