Love the detail and the practicality of these midcentury modern record player stands by Made By Raphael.
You might know the maker’s name. Some time back I picked out some rather lovely handmade retro vinyl cupboards that were perfect for anything looking to house a modest collection in a good-looking case. But these designs are very different.
Well, in some ways they aren’t different at all. Again, you are talking handmade pieces and there’s a strong retro flavour here that’s likely to appeal to anyone with a love of midcentury modern design. But this isn’t a sideboard-inspired design. This is about housing a record player and some vinyl within a modest footprint.
Yes, ideal for a small space or a flat/apartment, for example. It’s about hosting a record player, an amplifier and a good amount of LP records without taking up half the room. In fact, these designs really only take up a corner.
Beautiful things in different finishes of wood, all with subtle curves, some with tapered legs and all with well-thought-out designs. The crowning glory for me is the ‘string’ digitalising to the sides, which adds a period authenticity to each piece.
Have a look at the range (and Raphael’s other designs) at his retail site. It’s a growing range that is well worth a browse.
As for the price, you can pick one up from £399, with the priciest unit selling at £799. Other designs fall in between those two figures.
