A much-loved shoe and one guaranteed to get you noticed. The 1980s Puma Hawaii OG trainers are available once more.
A minor terrace icon back in the day, the Hawaii (not to be confused with the Adidas Hawaii OG that was reissued around seven or eight years back) dates back to 1988.
A peak time of trainer oneupmanship, the Hawaii had one thing on its side, Puma branding aside. It had a two-tone colour scheme. As I said, a shoe to get you noticed.
Whether you are brave enough to wear it now perhaps depends on your love of the design and how much you love a splash (or block) of colour. the key colour reissue is the suitable retro brown and orange. But if you look down the page, Stuarts (unlike most other sellers) also has a more colourful blue and red take on the design. Personally, I can see myself in the brown. The blue might be a bit much. But it’s down to personal taste.
Not that the design is much different. The colour blocks and contrasting shades in a soft suede, with the Puma stripe, tongue branding and of course, the gold writing to the side and a gum sole.
If you are bored with the usual trainer reissues (you know the ones) and want to catch the eye, these are a limited edition reissue, priced at £85.
