Why? Because it looks cool, positions itself well when it comes to affordability and is also very practical. If you are a fan, it’s something you are likely to wear, not stick in a drawer with all the other well-meaning gifts.

Oh yes, it’s also good for the environment, with much of the range hitting high when it comes to the use of recycled materials. Always good to see.

The collection, officially licensed, of course, is very much in keeping with what Tatty Devine does best. Small pieces of eye-catching jewellery. Small, but each one has an impact and features an easily identifiable piece of Bowie’s early/glam years because that era works so much better for something like this.

You can see on the page the kind of thing I am talking about. Pendants, necklaces, brooches, hair clips, and earrings with a heavy dose of Bowie. Some feature album artwork, some use imagery associated with the great man, and one even works with a famous silhouette of Bowie in his Tokyo Pop bodysuit.

I mentioned the affordability angle, and that’s pretty much true of most Tatty Devine designs. Always a big selling point. In this case (and working down the page), the Aladdin Sane Bolt earrings are £39, with the necklace at £37. You can also get a brooch for £29 and some monochrome variations of the pieces too.

The Suffragette City necklace retails for £45, the amazing Ziggy Suit necklace is yours for £47, an Aladdin Sane Portrait brooch or pendant is £35 (you can get a similar Hunky Dory sign, too), a Rebel Rebel brooch is £35, and the Spiders From Mars pendant is £35.

More, too, if you want to browse. You can see it all on the Tatty Devine website.

Oh yes, there’s also 10 per cent off almost everything on the site right now. use the code SHOP10.
