The Adidas Gazelle trainers get a Gore-Tex makeover – and you might want to move fast if you want a pair, as sizes are selling out.
Of course, they are. Because, despite the price (I’ll come to that in a moment), these are the perfect sports shoe for the time of year.
The Gazelles you see here are a collaboration with Tetsu Nishiyama of DCDT, and the one obvious design tweak (Gore-Tex aside) is the DCDT branding featured on the heel. Beyond that, it is the Gazelle you have seen on the shelves of sports shops since 1968.
But if you just liked the design, you could pick up a suede pair for pushing half the price of these. You are looking at these because of that upgraded construction. Specifically, a synthetic Gore-Tex upper to keep your feet dry during the rainy season (in the UK, at least).
Beyond that, this is what you expect of the modern-day Gazelle. So the t-toe design, a contrast heel tab and three stripes on the side. The colour scheme is an equally functional black and gold.
Sizes are starting to dry up, so don’t leave it too long if you want a pair – they are unlikely to appear again any time soon. As for that price, you are looking at £130.
