Something versatile, retro and very eye-catching – the Lucy 1960s-inspired paisley dress at 66 Clothing.
It’s a label I have featured before but for men rather than women. 66 Clothing has focused largely on men’s retro fashion for the last year or two. You might recall The Beatles shirts I mentioned a while back.
But it also does the occasional women’s design, as well as plenty of accessories. That looks to be changing with the launch of this dress, with more designs of a similar era promised further down the line, too.
The men’s range is both popular and well-made and includes myself as a customer. If you are a fan of fashion from the mid-20th century, it’s worth keeping an eye on, especially if you love a classic stripey t-shirt or a vintage knit.
A women’s range is likely to prove popular, too, based on this initial design, which is a classic cut of the era as well as a limited edition. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
The paisley cloth really stands out, whether you go for the bold tangerine finish or reign it in a bit with the monochrome black and white finish. Whatever you go for, you get a cloth that’s ‘super soft, stretchy and easy to wear’.
The dress is versatile enough to wear on its own, or if the weather gets a loyalty chillier (like now, for example), then maybe layer up, pinafore-style.
Both limited editions are available now, with sizes from 8 to 16 and a price of £49, which seems pretty reasonable.
I also recently did a round-up of 10 of the best 1960s dresses at Joanie, which is worth checking through if you want to compare and contrast before you buy.
