Looking good and unashamedly of another era, these 1970s-style dagger collar blouses at Joanie are designed to get you noticed.
However, how much you get noticed perhaps depends on the option you go for. There are eight different finishes to choose from, some – shall we say – a little bolder than others. But as far as I’m concerned, if you are going for a 1970s look, go all the way. That’s pretty much how that era was.
By ‘all the way,’ I mean go for one of the brighter patterns on offer here, which you can see on this page. I’ve put up some of the more subtle finishes, too, so you can compare and contrast. I know, the bright ones are the best.
Not that we should overlook the entire package. You really would struggle to find something like this outside of a vintage store and even then, something of this era wouldn’t come cheap if it was in any kind of reasonable condition. It’s what Joanie is getting a reputation for. You might recall the top 10 1960s dresses round-up I did a short while back. Again, few mainstream retailers are as ‘retro’ as this on a regular basis.
The blouses are made of an easy-care Livaeco Viscose, with the exaggerated dagger collar leading to a button-through front and long sleeves with 1970s-style turn-back cuffs. It is great for layering up now and good for showing off a bit more when the weather gets a touch warmer.
A full range of sizes in most of these and a price of £55.
