Nostalgia is a big selling point for this 1960s Batman Batmobile Lego set. But it’s also a very cool thing to own and build.

Lego isn’t afraid of going nostalgic, and I’ve featured plenty of retro Lego sets in the recent and distant past. Some are now worth quite a lot of money, too. If you picked up the Beatles Yellow Submarine set and didn’t build it, you could be sitting in quite a pile of cash.

This might be the case for this one, too, which has already sold out on the Lego site but is available exclusively at one other retailer if you want one—and it is still in stock there as I write.

You can understand why demand is high. Lego fans, Batman fans, Marvel fans, and anyone who loved the 1960s Batman TV series, which is very different from the movies in more recent years. I’ll be honest: This is my favourite Batman and always will be. And yes, I will be buying one of these sets.

It’s a collectable set aimed very much at adults. As I said, it’s based on the Batmobile used in the 1966 TV show with Adam West as the man himself.

The finished vehicle features a moulded windshield, rotatable wheels, authentic decorations and an opening boot containing the Bat-Computer.

Of course, the set wouldn’t be complete without a 1966-style Batman Minifigure wearing his distinctive cape and cowl and holding his Batarang. But note the figure doesn’t fit into the car. Shame. No Robin either.

The 1,822-part kit should take you some time to build. When finished, the Batmobile will measure over 14cm high, 50cm long, and 18cm wide and should look great on display.

The images show what that would look like, and if you want one to keep you busy as the nights draw in, you can pick up the set for £129.99.
