If you like the idea of something slightly cooler for your tree this year, then check out the handmade rock and indie Christmas decorations by Florence and Belle.
I tend to do a top 25 retro Christmas tree decorations and baubles round-up each year, but as yet, I haven’t been able to update it for this year. When I do, I’m pretty sure these will be present. But the range is so deep that I feel like I should give the collection a feature all of its own.
As ever, the problem for me would be picking just one, as there are so many different cars to choose from, going from the more obvious rock acts to the more obscure indie and plenty in between.
In short, there must be something here for you. I have my eye on at least three for our tree this year. And the range keeps on growing.
Of course, whatever catches your eye depends largely on your musical taste, but all share one thing in common, which is the handmade nature of each one. All are painted peg dolls with attachments on the top to fix to a tree branch.
There’s a rustic nature to each design that makes them more appealing, and with each being hand-painted, you know you are getting something unique to you as well.
In fact, that’s something to consider when ordering. Each is made just for you, so you will have to allow up to two weeks for them to be produced. If you want them for your tree this year, don’t hang about, as you might not have much time to show them off.
As for the range, I have tried to show off a number here, and if you are in doubt about who each one is, let me run down the page. At the top, you have The Monkees, who are followed by Kiss, The Beatles, The Stone Roses, The Jam, The Smiths, REM, The Libertines, Blur, Soft Cell, Joy Division, and The Sex Pistols.
But don’t be disappointed by that selection if your favourite isn’t there. The range is much wider, and that’s just a taste. Do have a browse as there’s every chance who or what you are after might well be there.
Some are also available as keyrings if your tree is already filled to capacity, and some as baubles too.
As well as an increased selection, there’s something else that’s new for this year, and that’s tree toppers. Why go for the traditional fairy when you can opt for something like the David Bowie tree topper you can see down the page? Well, that’s my thinking. You might be more traditional when it comes to festive decorating!
As for prices, they are quite reasonable, with single characters like Nick Cave and Frank Sidebottom selling for around £14 each and groups of four (like Joy Division, for example) selling for £42. Basically, the more in the band, the more you pay. Also, the Bowie tree topper retails for £40 if that caught your eye.
As I said, if you want them, don’t hang about as they will need to be made, and the Christmas period doesn’t last forever. Although these decorations just might last forever if you pack them away, making them a shrewd and eye-catching investment.

Note that new for this year are the ‘message’ peg dolls. They are similar in concept, but each carries a message board with something related to the rocker on it. As you can see from Ian Brown here. They sell for around £24.
There are some more obviously festive options this year, too. For example, the Paul Weller above is wearing a Christmas jumper, which retails for £14.
